Central York School District is now accepting registration for its upcoming Community & Adult Education opportunities!




A new year means a new healthier you! New!

Walk 15® classes take the best features of low-impact, aerobic style group exercise and incorporates into a format that’s easy to follow yet effective in results. Founded on a 15-minute mile, the walking-based moves, allow all ages and fitness levels to participate; a true class for all walks of life. Add the use of resistance bands & you have a full body workout! Join us for this fast-paced, joint friendly, 3-mile class!

Walk with a Master: Ami Curley is a Certified Fitness Trainer and Master Walk 15® Instructor. Trained in CPR, physiology, anatomy & kinesiology, cuing techniques, and much more. She is both educated and passionate about keeping you motivated and successful.

This class is for beginning to intermediate levels.

Let’s take the chill out of winter while cooking up some Hearty Soups and Risotto!
Learn how to make Zuppa di Cavolo, (tasty Italian cabbage soup with sausage),
Zuppa di Fagioli, (White bean soup), and use the Risotto method to make Risotto with Asparagus.
Please bring an apron and your appetite! You will learn some knife skills in this class.

Chamber Theatre New!

 A theatre class for adults, that allows you to join the world of acting without memorization. We will have an original play written specifically for our cast. Explore your character, and yourself. We will practice by reading for four weeks, our performance for friends and family will be the fifth week. Come and enjoy the magic of theatre in your comfort zone.

“GETTNG PAID TO TALK: Making Money with Your Voice New!

This is a single-evening workshop offering an upbeat, entertaining, and engaging introduction to the world of voice over. From industry pros & cons to real-world examples, attendees will learn behind-the-scenes basics of both the creative and business aspects of the field in a manner that is both fun and realistic. Questions and class engagement are always encouraged. Each attendee will have the opportunity to record a real script under the direction of our producer right there in the classroom. Each student’s recording is then played back at the end of the session as a class finale! The instructor is also available to provide basic voice assessment to anyone attending.

Participants will learn the elements that go into a retirement plan. We will cover how to manage risks in assuring the plan executes as was intended. Investment risk and reward, long term health risks, tax efficiency, inflation, social security, asset allocation and distribution strategies are just some of the topics covered in the workbook you will receive. Students will have the opportunity to have a plan drawn up for them in an optional planning consultation meeting, which is included in the course fee. This consultation is private. Your personal finances will not be discussed in class. This course is educational in nature; neither specific companies nor products will be mentioned.

This class is geared toward the beginning photographer who wants to learn about their particular camera as well as photography concepts in general. Classes will devote time to hands on instruction with each student’s camera as well as cover topics such as exposure, perspective, focus, light and composition. Critique of student’s work and an introduction to photo editing will also be included. Emphasis will be put on learning skills needed to ensure you get the shot. Space is limited, Sign up today!

Start with   hola !      (An Introduction to Spanish)

Join me on a journey to explore the fascinating world of Spanish. While you learn how to ask and answer basic questions, an overview of some grammatical concepts will be sprinkled into our learning time. This is not designed as an immersion course. Optional practice activities will be provided to complete between classes, some of which will be on line. Mastery will require practice. Additional courses will be added to accommodate expanding communication skills and learning travel expressions.

The following topics will be introduced: greetings, farewells, numbers to 29, time, months, expressions of courtesy, and asking and answering the question: How are you?

Option 2 & 2A- HOLA, PART B

There will be a review or expansion of material covered in Part A. In addition, these topics will be explored: alphabet, days, seasons, weather, calendar dates, colors, likes & dislikes

7 Sessions: Tuesdays, March 20, 27, April 3, 10, 17, 24, May 1.  
6:30-8 PM  (plus an optional 15 minute guided practice session at the end of each class to improve accuracy and fluency).

CY07 Part B Option 2, Part B; cost for students who completed Part A in November: $48/person

CY07 Option 2A - Part B cost for new students:
$59/person- (Topics in Part A will be reviewed, NOT re-taught.)

CY07 Option 3 - Cost for Parts A & B, (February to May sessions) $89/person





Swing into January, and Mambo the night away at Sinking Springs mini-class, to chase away the winter doldrums. This class will start with the basic steps and then add some more advanced figures. You may start your dancing adventure with this class, or continue if you have some experience. Bring a partner and have some fun with us!

Add to your knowledge of ballroom dancing. Bring a partner and learn additional figures beyond the basics taught in Ballroom 1, in Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha and Swing. Feel confident when you attend dances or when you can impress your friends at weddings, parties, etc.

Add to your repertoire of bronze dance figures. This class will focus on the American Style Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, and Viennese Waltz, as well as Rumba, Cha Cha and Swing. You must know the basic figures to take this class.

Improve your dance technique and learn how to connect figures on the dance floor. Some new figures will be added, but emphasis will be on execution of previously learned figures on the social dance floor. You must have some ballroom dance experience to take this class.
